| In 2008, the eQuality Scholarship Collaborative expects to award about ten $5000 scholarships to assist with post-secondary educational expenses.
| In 2008, KP Pride will award four $5000 scholarships, funded by Kaiser Permanente, to assist with nursing school expenses.
| In 2008, KP Pride will award one $2000 scholarship, funded by The Permanente Medical Group, Inc., to assist with medical school expenses.

Eligibility
|
Applicants must:
- be a graduating high school student residing in northern or central California (see map for specific counties)
- have applied to a two- or four-year post-secondary institution, including trade schools
- have promoted understanding of and equality for the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender community
| Applicants must:
- be enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment in an accredited ADN or BSN RN program in California. Master's prepared programs with a BA/BS in a field other than nursing will be considered eligible.
- be in good academic standing. Those just entering a nursing program must have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA with a strong emphasis on math and science.
- have promoted understanding of and equality for the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender community
Current KP employees or their dependents, RN reentry programs, or current RN to BSN or MSN programs are not eligible for these scholarships. Diploma programs are not eligible.
| Applicants must:
- be attending an accredited medical school in California or be a California resident attending an accredited medical school elsewhere in the United States
- be in good academic standing
- have promoted understanding of and equality for the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender community

The criteria by which recipients will be selected include:
- Service to the LGBTQ community
- Leadership
- Hardship or special circumstances
- Academic achievement

Deadline

| The deadline for all 2008 applications has passed. Applicants will be notified of their application status by April 30.
